LaFonda Forever

LaFonda Forever

When it comes to competition within the music industry, an artist must exude greatness. This particular artist must shine amongst the brightest and deliver more than what could be expected. Rhythm and Blues singer LaFonda shows that her aura and vocal ability can not go unnoticed. This Bronx beauty captures her audience’s attention with hypnotizing choreographed dance moves and a melodic voice that any avid R&B listener would cherish.

Nothing is granted without handwork and perseverance, which LaFonda is a firm believer in. The greatest performers are the most unforgettable, especially when it comes to a genre such as R&B. LaFonda  has received many honors such as an Underground Music Award for “Best R&B Female Artist” in 2006, along with three Indie Music Awards for “Best Female Solo”, “Best Female Performer” and “Best Female Artist” in 2008. Within a short period of time, she became recognized as an entertainer on all levels.

Although, a musician’s greatest asset is their ability to connect to their audience on a personal level, LaFonda proved that she could do more than just provide amazing performances. This rhythmic artist showed professionalism and dedication towards her craft. After doing countless amounts of open mic nights and showcases, LaFonda graced the stages of MSG TV and BET. Her stage presence and vocal ability captivated the audience and also the A&R’s who were present.

LaFonda shows her listeners that there is a softer and sensual side from her Bronx environment. She grew up listening to legendary musicians such as Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, Michael Jackson, and Toni Braxton. This young diva also gives credit to her mother, who was a driving force in her passion for music.

In 2007, she released her first mixtape LP appropriately titled “Go Hard or Go Home”, joining forces with another talent, producer Playboy-Chi and his production imprint, Sleepless Productionz. This musically sensational production has gained recognition from the likes of DJ Bedtyme 357, DJ Wayne McDonald from the U.K, along with other DJs.

When the opportunity to showcase her talent came in the form of the popular 106 and Park’s “Wild Out Wednesday” in 2010, LaFonda showed who owned the stage in front of a live, jam packed audience. With enough preparation and opportunity, success was not far along. She performed her smash single “OHH AHH” and gained new fans who appreciated this new talent.

Recently, in front of a packed venue at a Best Buy in the Bronx, LaFonda delivered a powerful performance to showcase her now R&B/ Pop sound. In each performace, song, and step, she proves that she still connects with her R&B roots but now with a more mainstream Pop vibe.

Since then,LaFonda has been featured on MTV3, BET.com, Black Beat Magazine, Rolling Out Weekly, The Cipha Sounds Effect Show on Sirius Radio and Xpoz Magazine, just to name a few. With so much potential to turn the R&B/Pop scene into a competitive market, LaFonda wants to prove that she can leave an everlasting imprint on the future of urban music.
